I was searching online for some inspiration and found this bird. It is called a Goudian Finch bird and it lives in Australia. I was intrigued by the colorful feathers (because I absolutely love bright colors). After seeing this, I immediately began sketching some ideas.
I wanted the geometry of the feather to create the majority of the purse. That's what the colorful lines are for. I tried to use most of the colors that are on the bird, but I wanted to have something more neutral that can be worn with most outfits. This is why the first design includes tan, brown, and a muted orange. I know orange does not go with everything, but I felt like it was a good pop color against the brown because I did not want to make it as dramatic as the other two.
For the second, design I instantly thought of Mardi Gras. There's purple, green, and gold feathers on the Gouldian Finch! So, I decided to share my Mardi Gras spirit with you guys by including the colors. For the last design, I wanted to give it a tropical feel. The best way to do that is with teal, Right?
